- 01PIQ names Healius exclusive AU distributor for Promarker.
- 023-year deal; access to Healius pathology network.
- 032,000+ collection centres; rollout 2027.
Proteomics International Laboratories (ASX: PIQ) has secured its maiden commercial distribution partnership with the appointment of healthcare company Healius (ASX: HLS) as the exclusive Australian distributor for the Promarker portfolio of predictive and diagnostic blood tests.
The initial three-year deal will give Proteomics access to Healius’ national pathology network, including more than 2,000 patient collection centres and established relationships with general practitioners, specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
Proteomics will retain responsibility for the Promarker portfolio including quality and regulatory compliance, scientific and medical support, laboratory testing, and clinical reporting.
Healius will support specimen collection, pathology distribution, referrer engagement, and market access across Australia.
Implementation will occur in a phased manner, with commercial rollout expected to follow during the 2027 financial year.
First-in-Class Portfolio
Proteomics’ portfolio of first-in-class blood tests enable early, predictive, and life-saving diagnostics in the areas of diabetic kidney disease (PromarkerD), esophageal adenocarcinomas (PromarkerEso), and endometriosis (PromarkerEndo).
The tests use plasma protein biomarkers – or ‘fingerprints’ in the blood — to measure a person’s risk of developing these diseases and allows for early medical intervention.
The company has secured multiple patents for all Promarker tests, strengthening its global development pathway by supporting direct sales, partnerships, and future licencing opportunities.
As the Promarker portfolio is at an early stage of commercialisation, Proteomics confirmed that revenue amounts generated under the Healius distribution agreement cannot be reliably estimated at this time.
The companies will collaborate on commercial rollout activities including operational and information technology integration, laboratory workflow implementation, clinician education and engagement, market access planning, and launch preparation.
National Distribution Pathway
Proteomics managing director David Morris said the agreement provided a national distribution pathway for Promarker, calling it “an important step in the company’s commercialisation strategy.”
“By combining our accredited laboratory capability with Healius’ pathology distribution infrastructure, we have established a scalable pathway to support the phased rollout of the Promarker portfolio across Australia,” he said.
"We look forward to working closely with Healius to support clinician awareness and adoption activities for the Promarker portfolio."
Healius group executive Anthea Muir said the company was pleased to partner with Proteomics to provide clinicians and patients with access to the Promarker portfolio through its pathology network.
"The Promarker portfolio complements Healius' pathology offering by expanding the range of predictive and diagnostic testing available to Australian clinicians," she added.
