Vection Technologies Awarded $1.64m AI-Powered Mission-Critical Order from Repeat Defence Customer

Key points

  • $1.64m ARR from repeat defence customer.

  • Revenue to be recognised this FY.

  • Dell AI appliances powering edge ops.

  • Defence program: $22.3m framework; NATO partner.

Vection Technologies (ASX: VR1) has secured a significant order for AI-powered mission-critical, multi-protocol data services from a repeat customer within the defence sector, bringing in $1.64 million of annual recurring revenue.

Vection has been servicing the undisclosed customer for over a decade, and expects to fully recognise the revenue during this financial year, with further returns expected from continued scope extensions through to 2027.

The new contract is focused on enhancing real-time AI capabilities for multi-protocol data enrichment, retention, and correlation—mission-critical requirements in classified intelligence operations demanding precision and high throughput at the edge.

The solution runs on dedicated AI Appliances powered by Dell Technologies and will be deployed within a distributed edge infrastructure built to meet the exacting performance standards of national security environments.

Growing Defence Program

Using its proprietary military-grade technology, Vection’s defence program has grown from a single classified contract into a multi-customer, multi-domain approach servicing national security and NATO-approved European defence contractors.

The program comprises the intelligence and law enforcement engagement revenue stream as well as Vection’s growing role within the European defence ecosystem.

This started with a pilot award in 2023 and has grown into a $22.3m multi-year framework agreement (scalable to $29.5m) with a repeat NATO-approved partner.

Last month, Vection received a maiden order for its military-grade edge data platform FEDRA (far edge data retention appliance), which offers advanced data retention, real-time correlation, and tactical edge intelligence.

Reflection of Client Trust

Vection managing director Gianmarco Biagi said the new contract was a reflection of the trust that had been built with the customer over several years.

“The fact that this relationship continues to generate recurring, high-quality revenue is a true demonstration of our team’s capability and the quality of our technology,” he said.

Heightened geopolitical tensions continue to drive structural demand for AI-powered intelligence and monitoring solutions, and Vection believes its proven delivery record, proprietary technology, and strong partnerships leave it well positioned to grow its share of this expanding market.

“Seeing AI Appliances at the centre of this engagement reflects the depth of our partnership with Dell and our ability to bring the best available infrastructure into the most demanding operational environments.”
